Madison Heights 5K

Distance: 5K
Time: 22:40
Overall Ranking: 6th
Age-Group: 1st, Medal

So I'm racking up the medals.  That makes 3 for 3 for age-group medals, though two of the three were gimmes.  The martian invasion medal was the real deal.  Getting a 1st place today in my age group was a pretty sweet feeling as well.

Obviously I was disappointed seeing 22:XX as I approached the finished line.  Apparently that martian course was as short as my phone indicated (3.04).   Today's was actually 3.13 - so an entire tenth of a mile... that would explain it.

So perhaps I got a little carried away with my goals for the year.   My two goals are as follows:

1. Break 22 minutes.
2. 7 minute pace

I sure do feel great, which is the most important thing - especially after going a few days without alcohol or chips.   And having my daughter there to see me and watch me collect medals is so important.  Today a friend came over, and Maddie walked to her in our room to show her all the medals her "amazing" dad had won :)

OK, time to pig out just a little, and start planning the next big event.
