Motivation

Today's Run:   2 mi, 16:58: 8:28/mi

I mentioned yesterday the motivation I desperately seek out in order to finish a run.  Often enough, motivation is just as important to start a run.   Today was a great example.  I had several perfectly good reasons to take the day off.
  1. It was 16 degrees outside.
  2. I had just run yesterday, and I could very well accomplish my goal by running every other day.
  3. It was 16 degrees outside.
Fortunately today the motivation out-numbered the excuses.  I was looking forward to writing  another blog post, to that great feeling I get after each run (runner's high), to fitting more comfortably in my medium sized shirts again (they've been getting a big tight lately), to improving on yesterday's "performance", to eat my Japanese Steakhouse leftovers without any remorse...

And what an improvement it was.   Although I'm still on my 2 mile track - I came in 45 seconds quicker than yesterday.  My first little victory - just two days in!   And in case you were wondering, my leftovers were delicious!
