Today's Run: 2.5 mi, 21:00, 8:23/mi
On Sunday I had intended to take the day off. At about 6PM, after finishing a couple bowls of a stew I had just made - with the sun about to set - and temperature dropping - I suddenly felt the urge to sneak in a run.
I could tell in the first half-mile, though at the same pace as the previous days (disastrous) run, systems were functioning much better, and I was bound to have a better run. I felt great at the 1-mile mark - and even at 1.5. I decided at that point to go for 2.5. When I reached 2 miles I knew I could do it. I even sprinted the last .5 miles... not like I will sprint a month from now... but it was a faster speed.
For some reason Ellie Goulding is the new voice in my Nike+ iPhone App. When I reached the 2.5 mark and slid the "finish" button, she said "You ran 3 days in a row. You should feel pretty good." And I thought, "Ya. I really do"
